Partners

Partnership is key to everything YouthNet does. Here's why our partners are so important.

Collaboration

Because partnership is crucial to YouthNet's success, we recognise that each partner is unique. That's why we establish individual relationships according to the way we work together.

We have a dedicated Partnerships team providing support to our day-to-day partners. But it doesn't stop there; our funding, editorial, website services and marketing activity all rely on forming strong links with organisations that can help us run our services and achieve our future goals.

do-it.org.uk

Our Partnerships team works tirelessly to support over 370 Volunteer centres, as well as over 400 national charities and not-for-profit organisations that post opportunities to the National Volunteering Database. The team helps organisations post and manage their volunteering opportunities, trains them to use our own software, V-Base, and assists other websites to set up XML feeds of the volunteering database.

TheSite.org

Our journalists and project managers form close relationships with expert organisations that help us ensure our information is accurate and up-to-date. And because our content channels offer such an invaluable and trusted source of information for young people, our editorial team also writes and syndicates content to commercial websites, such as Sky's Reach for the Sky (for 14-19 year-olds) and ministryofsound.com.

While our factsheets and articles provide answers for many young people, we developed askTheSite so young people could get direct access expert organisations. We believe in being adaptable and flexible, so our seven partners on askTheSite have individually-tailored service level agreements to suit their needs. We work closely with each partner to provide training and support for the advisors answering questions.

Funders

YouthNet doesn't see its financial supporters as simply 'cash machines': our partnerships with funders almost always go much further than this. It means we create partnerships that work in many different ways, coming up with approaches that meet the needs of YouthNet and the supporter. Some examples include:

  • Running joint seminars with John Ellerman Foundation and Association of Charitable Foundations;
  • Increasing brand awareness of funders with young people via sponsorship;
  • Running employee engagement opportunities and volunteering programmes;
  • Providing tailored website content to partner websites of publications (link to Sky page).

We also believe in effective communication with funders. We keep the charitable trusts, corporate sponsors and government partners up-to-date with any developments through tailored reporting systems.
