Content Syndication

Working in partnership via content syndication

Our syndication programme enables partners to integrate content from TheSite.org and the Do-it volunteer opportunity search into their own website. Whether you want to take a package of articles, podcasts and videos to present in your own brand to your audience, or you want to offer your visitors an easy way to volunteer, YouthNet is here to help.

Syndication from Do-it

We offer partners access to the Do-it database of opportunities via an XML syndication service. The service delivers the search and result element of the Do-it database to be hosted on your website or intranet in your own look and feel.

Incorporating the Do-it syndication feed into your site has several benefits:

  • It helps to remove the main barriers to volunteering – not knowing where to find an opportunity, not having enough time to apply, and not finding anything local;
  • It provides valuable data for you to report on the level of volunteering activity;
  • Charities local to your organisation have the opportunity to benefit from the skills, expertise and knowledge of your employees or residents;
  • Importantly, it also ensures that your employees or residents in can access volunteering opportunities quickly and easily from your own intranet or internet site without having to leave.

Find out more about syndication, and see a list of our current syndication partners.

If you are interested in using the Do-it database within your company, please see our employee volunteering page.

Syndication from TheSite.org

TheSite.org content is created by a team of professional journalists and multimedia experts. It strikes a balance between watertight factual information and a non-judgemental stance around issues such as sexual health, drinking and self-harm. Our information is sourced from trusted and expert partners such as Brook, Shelter, Drugscope and the Family Planning Association, and is then edited specifically to engage with young people online.

The benefits of syndicating content from theSite.org

Cost effective – A freelance journalist may charge up to £250 per article. Taking existing content from TheSite.org means you are able to provide your audience with quality online advice and guidance without having to invest money in commissioning, developing, managing and updating the information and support on your website.

Time-saving – it can take anywhere up to two weeks to develop an article, especially if it includes case studies or interviews, and even more time to update it. Syndicating hundreds of pieces of content from TheSite.org could save you months of work.

Regularly updated and expertly written – YouthNet’s Editorial Team regularly audit and update all information to ensure it remains accurate. The dynamic feed means that all updates made are automatically reflected in your articles too, ensuring timely and relevant support and guidance for your users, and saving you time!

Proven partner – YouthNet has 15 years experience of working effectively with partners and supporting young people through the internet. You will be working with one of the leading information providers for young people in the UK.

Technical support – it is a simple process to syndicate content from YouthNet’s websites, but if you need support our Technical Team is ready to help you successfully integrate and launch your syndication feed on your website.

askTheSite white-labelling

We have experience in white-labelling our askTheSite service, which uses experts to answer individual questions submitted by website users. We’d be keen to hear from organisations that are interesting in investigating how we could provide this for you.
