Parachute for YouthNet

Imagine this: you're standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet. Leaning forward out of the doorway, your feet curl round the edge of the plane. You lean further forward, and fall through the air at 120 mph. Then the noise stops, the canopy opens, and peace and quiet surrounds you as you begin the slow tranquil descent back to earth.

YouthNet has joined forces with leading challenge events company Skyline to offer individuals and groups the opportunity to take the plunge in aid of YouthNet, TheSite.org and do-it.org.uk

Whether you want to seek moral support and complete the jump as part of a team with friends or colleagues or jump individually, we'll support you all the way.

Freefall through the air at 120 mph!

How it works

If you're aged 16 or over and can raise a minimum of £395 in sponsorship, you can experience the thrill of a two mile-high tandem jump. YouthNet will receive at least £135 of your sponsorship money and the rest pays for your jump and training. Every penny you raise over your minimum sponsorship will come directly to YouthNet.

Remember, if you work for a company that matches fundraising donations, you will only have to raise half the minimum sponsorship target. The rest of the target is matched by your employer, so remember to check if your company can help you out!

YouthNet will support you with ideas and advice for raising your minimum sponsorship. To get you started, you can create your own online fundraising page, print off a sponsor form and take a look at our fundraising ideas.

Train and jump on the same day

The jump

The jump, a 'Tandem Skydive', is your opportunity to freefall through the air (without the parachute open) for several thousand feet. This is the only way you can jump from such an altitude without spending thousands of pounds becoming a freefall parachutist. You will be harnessed to a professional parachute instructor at all times throughout the descent.

The jump and training are completed in one day and your adventure will be managed by Skyline, who will ensure that you are fully prepared and equipped. There are over twenty British Parachute Association approved centres across the UK and you can choose a jump date that suits you.
