Camelot Foundation
YouthNet and Camelot Foundations three-year partnership has grown from strength to strength. In 2005 we produced a revealing report for the Foundation all about young peoples lives and attitudes.
Our partnership
Our partnership with Camelot Foundation began in 2004. Their aim is to make an impact on the lives of disadvantaged young people and to this end they have invested over £100,000 in YouthNet's mental and emotional health work. This has enabled us to continue to provide over 400,000 16-24 year-olds with trusted and respected information and advice through TheSite.org every month.
"YouthNet compiled a full report for Camelot Foundation on young people's hopes, aspirations and views on life."
Our partnership expanded further in 2005 when the Foundation approached YouthNet for an insight into the dreams, feelings and concerns of young adults in the UK. We used our 10 years of experience in researching and reporting on the issues effecting young people to compile a full report for the Foundation.
"We were delighted to work in partnership with YouthNet", Susan Elizabeth, Director, Camelot Foundation."
Online user groups and surveys enabled YouthNet to talk directly to TheSite.org users about their hopes, aspirations and views on life and being online meant that the respondents could remain anonymous, enabling them to open up in ways they might not normally. Some of the key findings of the report revealed that when thinking about the future young people tended to want to reduce poverty, increase a sense of tolerance, and end environmental harm and war.
Camelot Foundation say:
"We were keen to hear the voices of young people on their current lives and their hopes for the future, and – to this end – were delighted to work in partnership with YouthNet, from whom we commissioned both an online survey and online focus groups. Some 770 young people took part, sharing their thoughts, frustrations and aspirations for the future."
Susan Elizabeth, Director, Camelot Foundation.
