Online Posters

Are you a national or regional organisation looking for a fast, effective way to recruit volunteers? If so, the Online Poster System may be just what you need.

YouthNet's Online Poster System enables national and regional organisations to post their volunteering opportunities into do-it.org.uk's National Volunteering Database easily and quickly, over the internet. It is an alternative method to using YouthNet's V-Base software.

What features are included?

An online poster account puts organisations in control of the data displayed online. Here are just a few of the benefits of becoming an Online Poster:

Online Poster case studies

A user of the Online Poster System explains how they benefit.

"All our fundraising offices, hospices, shops, nursing offices and head office departments are registered as sub-accounts with their own usernames and passwords so everyone can look after their own opportunities on do-it.org.uk. Using do-it.org.uk enables our offices and departments looking to recruit volunteers to showcase the opportunities they have available. Within the first month of using the Online Poster System we had recruited 45 volunteers." - Jo Wilson from Marie Curie Cancer Care.

  • Password-protected log-ins to post and manage volunteering opportunities directly online;
  • Volunteering opportunities can be advertised regionally and nationally by associating postcode and county locations to an opportunity;
  • Opportunities or locations can be used as templates and copied, saving data entry time;
  • You have the choice over where potential volunteers are directed for further information (e.g. a central recruitment point, your head office, regional contacts, local branches or departments);
  • You can create sub accounts for branches or departments so they can log-in and manage their own volunteering opportunities.

How does it work?

In most cases, the head office of a national or regional organisation will open a 'main account' and is able to keep an overview of the volunteer recruitment and management process. It can also create 'sub accounts' for branches or departments, who in turn, can input and manage their own opportunities.

How do I get an account?

National and regional organisations can apply for an online poster account on do-it.org.uk

Your application will go through an accreditation process. If successful we will send you your login details and you can get started.

Note: local organisations recruiting volunteers normally advertise their opportunities through their local Volunteer Centre (VC) with the VC uploading the opportunities on their behalf. However local organisations in an area without a Volunteer Centre can obtain an online poster account.
