Don't bin it, recycle it

Empty printer cartridges or old mobiles may be rubbish to you, but for YouthNet they represent vital funding. Recycling is your opportunity to support us without spending a penny.

Pile of mobile phones

This year several million people will change their mobile phone, yet fewer than 5% of old phones will be recycled. Plus, in the last decade it is estimated that over 250 million print cartridges have ended up in landfill sites or have been incinerated.

Throwing away an old mobile phone or empty inkjet or toner cartridge is potentially dangerous and harmful to the environment, but it is also like throwing cash away. That's because YouthNet works in partnership with Recycling Appeal to turn redundant phones and cartridges into funding. Typically we receive anything from £1 to £7 for every mobile telephone recycled (it can sometimes be as high as £15) and from 25p to £5 for printer cartridges. So what are you waiting for?

How you can get involved

If you have a few phones or cartridges lying around at home you can send them to us via freepost. All you need to do is fill out this quick Registration Form and we will send a freepost envelope to you. Put your phones or cartridges inside and simply post the envelope.

How your company can get involved

*If your company recycled just 100 phones and 100 printer cartridges per year, YouthNet would receive enough money to provide expert and confidential answers to 50 young people via askTheSite.

Why not get your colleagues involved in supporting YouthNet?  We can arrange delivery and collection of a large recycling box for your office – all you need to do is contact us or call 020 7250 5700 and ask for any member of the Development Team.
